Gutter cleaning · Aberdeen & 15 miles

Clear gutters before the water finds another way down.

Aberdeen has plenty of trees and plenty of rain. Once a gutter fills with leaves and moss, water stops going where it should and starts going into your walls instead. Clearing it is a small job — the damp it prevents isn't.

Why it matters

A blocked gutter doesn't announce itself.

Water always finds a way. If it can't run along the gutter and down the downpipe, it backs up, overflows the edge, and soaks into the fascia, the render and eventually the wall itself. By the time you see a damp patch inside, the water has usually been going the wrong way for months.

Clearing gutters is a quick job when it's done regularly. It gets a lot more expensive when it's ignored for a few years.

  • Leaves and moss

The main culprits. Moss off the roof washes into the gutter and sets like a plug.

  • Debris in the downpipes

Even a clear gutter will overflow if the downpipe below it is blocked. We check both.

  • Overflow staining

The dirty streaks down a wall after heavy rain are the first visible sign.

  • Damp and interior damage

The one that costs real money — penetrating damp, blown render and rotten fascia boards.

Most gutters need clearing once or twice a year

What's involved

Clearing, and keeping it clear.

A one-off clear sorts out the immediate problem. Preventative maintenance stops it coming back — which is why most of our gutter customers put it on a schedule rather than remembering to book it.

Gutter clearing

Leaves, moss, grit and debris removed by hand from the full run of the gutter, not just the easy bits.

Downpipe checks

We make sure water can actually get away once it reaches the downpipe, and clear it if it can't.

Exterior gutter cleaning

The outside of the guttering and fascia wiped down, so the roofline looks as clean as the rest of the house.

Preventative maintenance

Scheduled visits — usually once or twice a year — so it never gets to the overflowing stage.

Autumn and spring visits

After leaf fall and again after winter. Those are the two points where gutters actually need attention.

Tied into your round

If we're already doing your bins or windows, gutter checks can be added periodically to the same package.

Not sure if yours need doing?

Send us a photo from an upstairs window and we'll tell you honestly. If they're fine, we'll say so and you've lost nothing. If they're not, we'll give you a price and a day.
